The Stolley Park Road plan will be voted on by the Grand Island City Council during their meeting on Tuesday, November 24. John Collins, Public Works Director, said the multiuse lanes will be used by bicyclists, mail delivers, and trash pickup. Parking will not be allowed in the multiuse lane.

City Celebrates Wastewater Improvements

The City of Grand Island had a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Head Works at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. It was hosted by John Collins, Public Works Director. Attendees included the Mayor, City Administrator, and other City Council Members.

Capital/Broadwell Intersection Improvement Delayed
Soil contamination found during construction at Capital Avenue and Broadwell has delayed the project.
Platte River Near Flood Stage
John Collins credits several construction projects and drainage cleaning with keeping Grand Island dry during this flood event.
Broadwell and Capital Avenues will be closed until August 19.
John Collins said that this closure will be longest of the project. The project is expected to be completed by June 2016.
